European and South American clubs eye Benjamin Asare move

Ghanaian goalkeeper Benjamin Asare is attracting interest from clubs in Europe, South America, and Saudi Arabia. The 34-year-old's representatives are currently looking for a transfer abroad before the current window closes.

Hertha BSC in Germany, Vasteras in Sweden, and the Brazilian side Fortaleza have all shown initial interest in the goalkeeper. While Saudi Arabian clubs have also made contact regarding a potential transfer, a move to Europe is the preferred choice for Asare and his representatives. No formal offers have been submitted by these clubs at this time.

Asare's profile increased following his performances during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Although he began the tournament as the second-choice goalkeeper for Ghana, he earned three appearances. He recorded clean sheets in matches against Panama and England, with his display against England being a notable highlight of the competition.

His tournament statistics saw him ranked among the top 10 best-performing goalkeepers at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This recognition has contributed to the heightened interest from international clubs.

The goalkeeper is currently under contract with Hearts of Oak until 2027. He recently extended his stay with the club in 2025, and his current agreement includes an option to extend for an additional year.
