Everton lead Liverpool and Fulham in race for Hector Fort

Everton have moved ahead of Liverpool and Fulham in the pursuit of Barcelona defender Hector Fort. The Toffees are currently positioned to submit the most attractive offer for the 20-year-old right-back.

Three Premier League clubs are interested in the player following developments at Inter Milan. The Italian side had identified Fort as an alternative to Djed Spence, but they have instead reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Spence. This shift has left the three English sides to compete for the Barcelona academy graduate.

Fort has made 30 appearances for the Barcelona first team. He spent last season on loan at Elche CF, where he struggled to secure regular playing time. The defender is currently training separately from the main squad as he is no longer part of Hansi Flick's plans. The club has decided to sell the Spain U20 international this summer.

While Fort previously expressed a desire to remain at the Camp Nou, his ambitions do not align with the current plans of the La Liga champions. He has since accepted that a move is necessary. Barcelona are looking to facilitate a sale that includes a high sell-on percentage.
