FC Samartex sign William Otto Mensah ahead of 2026/27 season

FC Samartex have signed defender William Otto Mensah ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, adding another player to their squad rebuild. The 2023/24 league champions confirmed the arrival on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Mensah joins the Timber Giants from Auroras, where he was previously on the books. His move adds defensive depth as Samartex prepare for the new campaign and continue assembling their squad during pre-season.

The defender has agreed a two-year contract with FC Samartex. The deal secures his services beyond the upcoming season and gives the club another option in a position it is reinforcing before competitive football resumes.

Samartex are bringing in several new players as they target a strong 2026/27 campaign. Mensah’s signing is part of that wider recruitment programme, with the club looking to build a squad capable of competing after its title-winning 2023/24 season.

His immediate task will be to make a strong impression during the rest of pre-season. The work he does in training and in the remaining preparation matches will determine whether he can earn a place in the starting eleven.
