Elijah Adebayo joins Bristol City on two-year deal after Luton exit

Elijah Adebayo has joined Bristol City on a two-year contract. The 28-year-old striker arrives from Luton Town on a permanent transfer after leaving the Bedfordshire club in the summer.

Adebayo had already trained with Bristol City during pre-season before the move was completed. That period has given him time to become familiar with Michael Skubala’s squad and the club’s approach ahead of the new campaign.

The former Luton forward becomes Bristol City’s 10th summer signing. His arrival gives Skubala another option in attack and increases competition for places among the club’s forwards.

Adebayo said the move appealed to him because of the positive atmosphere around Bristol City and the clarity of the manager’s plans. He also indicated that Skubala had explained how he wanted the team to approach the season.

The striker will wear the number 45 shirt at Bristol City. He plans to draw on his experience to help drive the squad forward and encourage his new teammates to work towards the same objectives.

The permanent move brings Adebayo to a new club after his spell with Luton Town. Bristol City will now have his experience available as the team builds its attacking options under Skubala.
