Galatasaray offer €45m for Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli
Galatasaray have made an initial €45m bid for Gabriel Martinelli, though Arsenal are holding out for a €60m fee for the Brazilian winger.
Galatasaray have submitted an initial offer of €45m to Arsenal for the transfer of Gabriel Martinelli. The Turkish club is currently in advanced negotiations with the 25-year-old Brazilian international to secure his services.
Agent George Gardi has been authorised by the Süper Lig winners to lead the negotiations with the Premier League champions. Gardi previously acted as an intermediary during the permanent transfer of Victor Osimhen from Napoli to Galatasaray.
While Galatasaray have moved to secure Martinelli, Arsenal are maintaining a higher valuation for the winger. The London club is requesting a fee of €60m to allow the player to leave the Emirates. Martinelli's current contract runs until 2027, with an additional year available as an option.
The pursuit of the South American winger follows Galatasaray's unsuccessful attempts to sign AC Milan's Rafael Leão. The Istanbul-based club found Leão's reluctance to move to Turkey and his high price tag to be significant obstacles in their search for a left-wing option.
In addition to Martinelli, Galatasaray have also entered talks with Arsenal regarding Ethan Nwaneri. The club is looking to strengthen its squad following their recent league title win.
Arsenal have already presented Martinelli to several different clubs as the team looks to move the player on. Despite the ongoing discussions, the club remains firm on their pricing requirements for the winger.
