Galatasaray submit £38m bid for Arsenal forward Martinelli
Galatasaray have made an official €45 million bid for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli as they look to strengthen their squad for the Champions League.
Galatasaray have submitted an official bid of €45 million (£38m) for Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli. The Turkish club made the offer on Tuesday, identifying the Brazilian as their main transfer target.
Martinelli joined Arsenal from Brazilian side Ituano in 2019. Since his arrival, he has become a significant player for Mikel Arteta, primarily playing on the left wing but also serving as a central striker. The 25-year-old is noted for his skill and pace.
The Istanbul-based club is preparing for competition in the Champions League this season. They have sought high-profile attackers to increase their competitiveness in European football and view Martinelli as the right candidate for their squad.
Arsenal must now decide if they will accept the valuation or sell the forward. The club faces a choice regarding a player who possesses experience in both the Premier League and the Champions League while entering his prime years.
If the deal proceeds, Arteta will need to find new attacking options before the transfer window shuts. The Gunners have previously shown interest in Barcola as a potential replacement.
