Ghana's Nunoo to referee ASKO de Kara vs AS Zam CAF Confederation Cup tie

Ghanaian FIFA referee Julian Nunoo has been appointed to oversee the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary-round fixture between ASKO de Kara and AS Zam on 13 September 2026. The game will be played at Stade de Kégué in Lomé, where Togo’s ASKO de Kara will host Niger’s AS Zam.

Nunoo will be the centre referee for the meeting. The appointment gives the Ghanaian another opportunity to officiate in a CAF club competition and adds to his work as an international referee under the FIFA badge.

He will be supported by compatriots Roland Nii Duodu Addy and Theophilus Aberenga Akugre. Addy and Akugre have been selected as the assistant referees for the fixture, completing the main on-field officiating team alongside Nunoo.

Ivorian official Patrick Tanguy Jean Philippe Vlei has been assigned as the fourth official. His role will place him in the matchday officiating group at the Lomé venue for the encounter between the Togolese and Nigerien clubs.

CAF has also named Equatorial Guinea’s Antonio Esono Maquina Bindang as the Match Commissioner. Nigerian Aminu Shantali Shantali Shuaibu will serve as the Referee Assessor for the game.

The appointments bring officials from Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria into the matchday structure, alongside the two clubs from Togo and Niger. For Nunoo, the assignment represents another continental fixture during his growing experience as a FIFA referee.
