Ghanaian midfielder Desmond Acquah joins Kapaz PFK in Azerbaijan

Ghanaian midfielder Desmond Ofori Acquah has completed a move to Azerbaijani Premier League club Kapaz PFK. The 24-year-old joins from Belgian side FCV Dender on a contract that runs until the end of the season.

Acquah was born in Belgium and began his football development with Diegem Youth. He later moved to OH Leuven before continuing his career at Dender, where he spent two years.

His final season with Dender produced two goals in 15 appearances across all competitions. Kapaz have now brought him in as part of their preparations for the new campaign, with the midfielder expected to add strength to the squad.

The transfer also links Acquah with fellow Ghanaian Asumah Abubakar, who joined Kapaz during the summer transfer window. Abubakar’s arrival means the Azerbaijani club will have at least two Ghanaian players in their ranks.

Acquah’s move takes him into the Azerbaijani Premier League after his development and senior football in Belgium. His agreement with Kapaz gives him the season to establish himself at the club and build on his time at Dender.

Kapaz have continued to add players during the transfer window, and Acquah becomes their latest arrival. The move offers the midfielder a new league and a fresh opportunity after making 15 appearances for Dender last season.
