Gor Mahia signing Denis Omedi keeps personal targets private
Gor Mahia forward Denis Omedi says he is keeping his personal targets private as he begins a two-year spell with the FKF Premier League champions.
Gor Mahia forward Denis Omedi has chosen not to reveal the personal targets he has set for his first season at the club. The 32-year-old Ugandan says those ambitions are demanding, but keeping them private helps him stay focused on the work needed to reach them.
Omedi joined Gor Mahia from Rwanda’s APR FC before the 2026/27 season, agreeing to a two-year contract. The move brought him to the club after earlier spells with Ugandan sides Kitara FC and Booma FC, as Gor Mahia added attacking experience to their squad.
The forward says he has settled quickly since arriving in Kenya. He has credited the supporters, his new teammates, the technical staff and the management for making the transition easier and creating conditions in which he can concentrate on adapting to the club.
Omedi views his undisclosed objectives as a source of motivation. He believes that speaking about them publicly could weaken his focus, while the challenge of meeting high standards gives him an additional reason to maintain discipline and work harder throughout the campaign.
His individual ambitions are also tied to Gor Mahia’s wider objectives. Omedi believes that improving his own performances and completing the work required to meet his targets will allow him to contribute to the team’s pursuit of success.
Gor Mahia finished first in the 2025 FKF Premier League with 69 points from 34 matches, recording 20 wins, nine draws and five defeats. They scored 50 goals and conceded 22. Their most recent five matches brought two wins, one draw and two losses, including a 3-1 victory away to Murang’a SEAL. The sides are scheduled to meet again in the league on 29 August 2026.
