MLS: Prince Owusu scores again as Montreal draw 2-2 with LA Galaxy

Prince Owusu scored his 13th MLS goal of the season to earn CF Montreal a 2-2 draw with LA Galaxy and extend his scoring run.

Prince Owusu scored late as CF Montreal came from behind to draw 2-2 with LA Galaxy in MLS. The Ghanaian striker headed the equaliser in the 79th minute, extending his scoring sequence to four consecutive matches.

Montreal took the lead in the 16th minute when Daniel Rios scored on his debut. LA Galaxy responded four minutes later through Ruben Ramos Jr., leaving the teams level at half-time.

The visitors moved ahead three minutes after the interval, with Maya Yoshida finishing with a backheel. Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil supplied the assist for the goal, giving him eight goal involvements this season.

LA Galaxy were reduced to 10 players in the 68th minute after goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski was sent off. Montreal eventually made the numerical advantage count when Owusu rose to meet the ball and restore parity.

The goal was Owusu’s 13th in MLS this season, matching the career-best total he set with Montreal last season. He has also scored seven times across his last seven appearances, underlining his importance to the club’s attack.

The draw extended Montreal’s unbeaten run to four matches and left the team with a 6-10-5 record. Owusu’s continued scoring form has provided a significant attacking outlet as Montreal maintain that unbeaten sequence.
