Haaland cuts his hair ahead of 2026/27 Premier League season
Erling Haaland has replaced his long hairstyle with a short cut before Manchester City’s 2026/27 Premier League opener under Enzo Maresca.
Erling Haaland, 26, has cut his long hair ahead of Manchester City’s 2026/27 Premier League campaign. The change comes before the club’s opening league fixture and follows his seven-goal performance for Norway at the 2026 World Cup.
The Norway striker revealed the new look on social media on Sunday morning. He also posted pictures from different points in the haircut process and used a caption indicating that he was unconcerned about the reaction to the change.
Haaland has moved away from the longer style he has worn in recent seasons, choosing a much shorter cut similar to the one associated with his Borussia Dortmund period. The change is one of the most noticeable alterations to his public image since he became a leading figure at Manchester City.
He previously said that Zlatan Ibrahimovic had encouraged him not to cut his hair, arguing that his strength was connected to it. Haaland’s latest decision suggests that advice no longer influenced his appearance as he enters a fresh phase at the club.
The haircut arrives as City begin life under Enzo Maresca. Pep Guardiola left after more than 10 years in charge, and Maresca is preparing for his first Premier League season at the Etihad, with Haaland still expected to lead the attack.
Haaland’s profile also grew during Norway’s World Cup run to the quarter-finals, when his performances helped him gain more than 32 million Instagram followers. City lost 3-0 to Arsenal in the Community Shield, leaving Haaland with responsibility for helping the team respond when the league season begins.
