Hooker recognises Parnasse’s talent ahead of UFC Paris main event

Dan Hooker has acknowledged Salahdine Parnasse’s quality ahead of their UFC Paris main event, saying he now understands why the French fighter has attracted so much attention. The bout is scheduled for 5 September 2026 at the Accor Arena.

Hooker admitted at UFC Paris media day that he had not known much about Parnasse’s style before the fight was arranged. His view changed quickly after assessing the opponent he will face in Paris.

Parnasse arrives on the UFC’s major stage with considerable expectations. The Frenchman is a former double champion in KSW, and this contest marks his debut at a big UFC event. Hooker accepts that Parnasse has already faced strong opposition, but believes the timing of their meeting could be decisive.

He also suggested that Parnasse might have had a stronger opportunity if they had met during some of Hooker’s previous seasons, rather than now.
