James Osei Brown calls for fresh start for Asante Kotoko players

Asante Kotoko board chairman James Osei Brown has urged players to move past a disappointing eighth-place finish and focus on winning the new season.

Asante Kotoko board chairman James Osei Brown has called on his players to move past a difficult 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign. He urged the squad to embrace a new beginning as the club prepares for the upcoming season.

The Porcupine Warriors finished in eighth place during the previous season, failing to meet their objectives of competing for major trophies. Brown addressed the players during a visit to the club's pre-season camp in Accra, where he was accompanied by members of the management and the board.

Brown noted that while the team attempted to achieve their goals last year, the final results were unsatisfactory. He told the players to stop dwelling on previous shortcomings and instead focus on the future with renewed determination. He specifically challenged the squad to match the level of commitment currently being demonstrated by the club's leadership.

The chairman emphasized that the club's objective must be to win every single match they play. He encouraged the players to maintain self-belief as they approach the new campaign. He suggested that the players should match the effort being put in by the board by working hard through every match, step by step.

Asante Kotoko is currently undergoing significant changes to its technical structure and squad composition. These adjustments are part of the club's efforts to build a more competitive side for the new season.
