Josh Hokit trolls Dillon Danis after Mike Perry fight withdrawal

Josh Hokit mocked Dillon Danis online after Danis withdrew from his Duel Arena 1 bout with Mike Perry 48 hours before the event.

Josh Hokit mocked Dillon Danis after the submission specialist withdrew from his scheduled fight with Mike Perry at Duel Arena 1. Danis pulled out 48 hours before the event, ending plans for the matchup to headline the card.

Hokit used an edited image showing Danis in unusual clothing on a couch. The joke suggested that Danis had a new job waiting for him and linked it to a pullout couch, turning the withdrawal into a social-media taunt.

Danis later posted graphic footage of his arm being stitched. The post was intended to show that his withdrawal was not a joke, although he subsequently removed another similarly disturbing clip. The images did not prevent further criticism from members of the MMA community.

Perry reacted angrily after Danis did not appear for the fight. With the original bout no longer going ahead, Brandon Jenkins accepted the replacement assignment on short notice and was publicly acknowledged by Perry.

Jenkins, known as “The Human Highlight Reel”, had previously fought twice in the UFC between 2021 and 2022 and lost both contests. He entered the matchup with a win over Chris Avila at MVP MMA 1, where he prevailed by split decision.

The episode left Danis at the centre of online ridicule after his late withdrawal, with Hokit among the fighters adding to the reaction. His couch image focused on Danis’ decision to pull out, while Perry moved on to a replacement opponent for the Duel Arena 1 headliner.
