BKB 60: Mick Terrill to headline Newcastle bare-knuckle debut

Mick Terrill will face Kamil Sokolowski when BKB stages its first Newcastle event on October 10, with Rolando Dy defending his title.

Mick Terrill, who has an 11-2 record with 10 knockouts, will headline BKB 60 against Kamil Sokolowski at the Utilita Arena Newcastle. Sokolowski enters the heavyweight bout with a 3-1 record in BKB.

The event, scheduled for October 10, will be the bare-knuckle organisation’s first appearance in Newcastle. Terrill, a North Shields native and former multi-promotion heavyweight champion, is returning to the arena where he previously won a world title and will now pursue another route towards a championship opportunity.

Sokolowski is a Poland-born fighter based in Devon who has faced established opponents in both bare-knuckle and gloved boxing. His previous boxing opponents include Dillian Whyte, Martin Bakole, David Price, Lucas Browne, David Adeleye, Otto Wallin, Bakhodir Jalolov and Frazer Clarke. He has also competed against former BKB title challenger Mark O’Neil.

The co-main event will see Rolando Dy defend the BKB Super Welterweight World Championship against Scott McHugh. Dy, from the Philippines, has won six of seven professional bare-knuckle bouts, including five by knockout, and will be making his second defence since becoming the first Filipino fighter to win a BKB world title.

McHugh is a three-time world champion, a Bare Knuckle Hall of Fame inductee and a veteran of more than 20 professional bare-knuckle contests. The Leeds fighter will be seeking the Police Gazette Diamond Belt to add to his collection of titles.

The card will also feature former IBF world champion and Olympic veteran Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr, along with unbeaten welterweight Adel Altamimi. Altamimi fights out of Los Angeles and represents Iraq, having previously competed in London and produced a Fight of the Night performance at BKB 57 in Los Angeles.
