Kaizer Chiefs line-up features Phili debut and Petersen start

Fernando da Cruz has named his starting XI for the home match against Sekhukhune United, including new signing Langelihle Phili.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz has announced his starting eleven for the home league fixture against Sekhukhune United. The squad features several changes from the side that faced Golden Arrows in last weekend's MTN8 encounter.

Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen retains his position in goal. This decision comes after the goalkeeper was responsible for the error that led to the decisive goal in the previous match against Arrows.

Defensively, Dillan Solomons earns a place in the starting lineup, replacing Thabiso Monyane. The remaining three players in the back four will remain the same as the previous selection. The defensive unit consists of Petersen, Solomons, Frosler, Kwinika, and Miguel.

In the midfield, Sibongiseni Mthethwa joins Lebohang Maboe in the center of the pitch. The attacking lineup includes Asavele Velebayi and Luke Baartman. New signing Langelihle Phili will make his first full appearance for the club.

Ighodaro completes the starting eleven alongside Phili, Velebayi, Baartman, Mthethwa, Maboe, Miguel, Kwinika, Frosler, Solomons, and Petersen. The match marks the first home league game for the team and features a Sekhukhune United side led by a former co-coach of Da Cruz.
