Kaze targets improvements after Sekhukhune’s 1-0 MTN8 defeat
Sekhukhune United coach Cedric Kaze wants sharper final-third play and greater composure before two more meetings with Orlando Pirates this week.
Sekhukhune United coach Cedric Kaze has called for major improvements after Orlando Pirates beat Babina Noko 1-0 in the first leg of their MTN8 semi-final last weekend. The teams will meet twice more this week, beginning with a Betway Premiership fixture on Tuesday before the semi-final returns next Saturday.
Kaze believes Sekhukhune must make better use of their opportunities in the final third. He has placed particular emphasis on the team’s movement when advancing into that area, as well as their technical execution once they reach attacking positions.
The coach also wants his players to show greater calmness in front of goal. Sekhukhune were unable to score in the home defeat, leaving Pirates with a narrow advantage in the semi-final tie and giving Kaze’s side an immediate chance to respond in the league meeting.
Kaze felt the performance improved after the interval. In his assessment, Sekhukhune had the stronger second half, and he wants that level of play to carry into Tuesday’s encounter rather than appear only after the break.
The demanding schedule gives the teams a quick rematch before the cup tie is decided. Sekhukhune must first address their attacking movement, accuracy and finishing against Pirates in the Betway Premiership, then produce another performance in the second leg next Saturday to overturn the 1-0 deficit.
Kaze’s message to his players is built around confidence in their approach. He wants Sekhukhune to start positively, trust the plan prepared for the match and maintain belief in their ability to improve across the two upcoming meetings with Pirates.
