Marmoush set for Tottenham move as Man Utd midfielder joins Hibs
Omar Marmoush is set to leave Manchester City for Tottenham on loan, while Manchester United midfielder Jacob Devaney joins Hibernian for the season.
Omar Marmoush is set to leave Manchester City for Tottenham Hotspur after the two clubs reached a verbal agreement over a move for the Egypt international. The proposed transfer would initially be a loan to the Premier League club.
Tottenham’s deal includes a £50 million purchase clause. That clause would become mandatory if the agreed conditions are met, giving the move a possible permanent outcome beyond Marmoush’s loan spell.
Marmoush, 27, is due to undergo a Tottenham medical on Monday. He had already agreed to join the north London club several days earlier, but remained with City for their Premier League meeting with Bournemouth on Sunday.
The forward was an unused substitute as Manchester City won that match 2-1 at home. His omission from the game came as the proposed switch to Tottenham moved closer to completion.
The transfer news also coincides with another Manchester move involving a young midfielder. Manchester United have allowed Jacob Devaney to join Scottish club Hibernian on a season-long loan, with Hibernian holding an option to sign him permanently.
Devaney was included in Manchester United manager Michael Carrick’s 2026 pre-season tour squad. He played against Wrexham in Helsinki and later appeared as a substitute against Rosenborg last month. His move to Hibernian now gives him a season away from Old Trafford, with the option of a permanent transfer included in the agreement.
