Liverpool among clubs interested in Gilberto Mora for January

Liverpool have joined several major European clubs in approaching Tijuana for 17-year-old midfielder Gilberto Mora ahead of the winter transfer window.

Liverpool are among the European clubs that have made approaches regarding a potential January transfer for Gilberto Mora. The 17-year-old midfielder is being monitored by several major sides, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Borussia Dortmund.

While Liverpool had previously been linked to the player, recent developments suggest these approaches are specifically aimed at a move during the winter market. No formal offers or agreements have been reached at this stage.

Andrés Lillini, who manages Mexico's youth national teams, has expressed concerns regarding the midfielder's workload following the World Cup. Lillini noted that Mora is now involved in the senior national team process and emphasized the need to protect the player physically and emotionally.

Lillini stated that any decision to return the player to youth-level competitions will be handled by the senior national team setup. This caution follows a period where Mora dealt with a severe case of pubalgia. The injury caused him to miss a significant portion of Tijuana's campaign and nearly prevented his participation in the World Cup.

As interest from top European clubs intensifies, those close to the player are focused on managing his development carefully given his age and recent physical challenges.
