Lyngby interested in signing Warriors defender Munashe Garananga

Lyngby has emerged as a new suitor for Zimbabwean international Munashe Garananga. The Danish Superliga club is exploring the possibility of acquiring the 25-year-old defender from FC Copenhagen.

Discussions have already commenced between Lyngby, Copenhagen, and Garananga's representatives. The clubs are considering a loan arrangement that would see the centreback move to Lyngby either until January or for the remainder of the current season. Lyngby aims to bolster their defensive depth and views the Warriors player as a source of experience for their backline.

Garananga joined Copenhagen from Belgian side KV Mechelen in 2024 and is currently under contract with the Danish giants until 2028. While he has made three appearances for Copenhagen this season, high competition for defensive positions has created uncertainty regarding his long-term role at the club.

The defender is looking to find consistent playing time following a difficult period at Hibernian. During the second half of last season, Garananga was on loan in the Scottish Premiership but was limited to just two appearances before an injury cut his spell short.

Interest in the Zimbabwean defender has been growing, as Israeli club Maccabi Haifa was previously linked with a move for him. A move to Lyngby could provide the regular football necessary to assist his career progression and his standing within the Zimbabwe national team setup.
