Manchester United plan two more signings before 2026 window closes
Manchester United are targeting two further additions before the September 1, 2026 deadline, with Lewis Hall and another midfielder in their plans.
Manchester United are planning to complete two more signings before the summer transfer window shuts on September 1, 2026. The club’s recruitment plans include another midfielder and a left-back, with Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall identified as one possible addition.
Hall is being considered as an option on the left side of defence. The 21-year-old joined Newcastle after coming through at Chelsea, but his current club want to retain him beyond this season. That stance could make the move difficult for United to complete before the deadline.
The search for another midfielder is also continuing, with Michael Carrick’s team working on a deal in the remaining days of the window. No further details about the player being pursued have been provided, but the position is one of the two areas United still want to strengthen.
United have already made several additions during the window. Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos have arrived to reinforce midfield, while Karl Darlow has joined as a goalkeeper. Young winger Tynan Thompson has also been added to the squad.
The club have additionally welcomed Marcus Rashford back after his loan spell with Barcelona. His return adds another established attacking option, while the planned recruitment indicates that United are still seeking more depth in defence and midfield before the September 1 cut-off.
With two more arrivals targeted, United’s transfer activity is set to continue until the final stage of the window. Hall’s availability will depend in part on Newcastle’s determination to keep the former Chelsea player, while the midfield pursuit remains a separate piece of Carrick’s squad-building plans.
