Medeama SC beat ASEC Mimosas 2-1 in pre-season friendly
Ghanaian champions Medeama SC secured a 2-1 victory over ASEC Mimosas as they continue their pre-season training camp in Abidjan.
Medeama SC secured a 2-1 victory over ASEC Mimosas in a pre-season friendly match on Wednesday. Jacob Amu Mensah and Prince Owusu scored the goals to ensure the win for the Ghanaian champions.
The match took place at the ASEC Mimosas Training Centre in Abidjan. Medeama SC matched the quality of the Ivorian side throughout the 90 minutes to earn the result.
This victory represents the second win for Ibrahim Tanko's squad in three friendly matches. Since arriving in Ivory Coast for their training camp, the team has recorded two wins and one draw.
The Tarkwa-based club is currently undertaking a three-week residential camp in Abidjan to prepare for the 2026/27 season. Medeama SC is scheduled to play two more friendly matches before the conclusion of their stay in Ivory Coast.
Once the training camp in Abidjan ends, the team will return to Ghana to finalise their preparations for the new campaign. The club will be competing in both domestic competitions and continental football.
As the reigning Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama SC will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League. The squad is working to prepare for the demands of the upcoming season following their recent domestic success.
