Mensah returns to Al Riyadh after difficult Al-Nasr spell

Bernard Mensah has completed a return to Al Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League. The Ghanaian midfielder moves back to the club following a difficult tenure with Al-Nasr last season.

Murat Uzunmehmet, the owner and CEO of Talent & Family Management, stated that the 31-year-old player struggled significantly during his time at Al-Nasr. Uzunmehmet noted that Mensah faced unfair situations and injustices at the club, which resulted in the player losing his joy and passion for football.

The agent expressed optimism regarding the player's return to the league, suggesting that Mensah is happy to compete against world-class stars again. He believes the midfielder can rediscover his form and achieve more with his team this season after having already proven his ability in the Saudi Pro League.

Mensah brings significant experience to his second stint with Al Riyadh. During the 2024/25 campaign, he recorded five goals in 29 league appearances for the side. His most successful period in the league came during the 2023/24 season with Al-Tai, where he scored 14 league goals.

Beyond his time in Saudi Arabia, the midfielder has played in several different countries, including Spain, Portugal, and Turkey. His career includes a period at Besiktas, where he secured both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup titles.
