NEC FC sign Uganda Cranes forward Fahad Bayo on two-year deal

Uganda Premier League side NEC FC has secured the signature of international striker Fahad Bayo on a two-year contract.

NEC FC has officially completed the signing of Uganda Cranes forward Fahad Bayo. The Bugolobi-based club confirmed the arrival of the 28-year-old striker on a two-year contract through its official website on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

This move marks a significant return to domestic football for the striker. Bayo has spent the last six years competing in various leagues across Europe and Africa. His last appearance in the Uganda Premier League came during the 2019/20 season, a period when his goal-scoring helped Vipers SC win the league championship.

Following that successful domestic campaign, Bayo moved abroad to play in the Israeli Premier League for both FC Ashdod and Bnei Sakhnin. His international career also included spells in the Czech Republic with MFK Vyškov, as well as time spent in North Macedonia playing for Vardar Skopje and KF Arsimi.

The addition of the forward provides NEC FC with a player who holds 29 caps for the Uganda Cranes. The club expects his tactical maturity and scoring experience to strengthen their offensive options for the upcoming season.

NEC FC finished the previous season in the upper half of the league standings. By securing Bayo, the club aims to bolster its squad as it pursues major domestic trophies in the new campaign.
