Nigeria’s Isaac Afolabi joins KF Burreli for Albania second-tier test

Nigerian left-back Isaac Afolabi has left KF Laçi for KF Burreli, where he will compete in Albania’s Kategoria e Parë.

Nigerian defender Isaac Afolabi has completed a move to KF Burreli from fellow Albanian club KF Laçi. The left-back will continue his European career in Albania’s Kategoria e Parë, the country’s second division.

The transfer gives Afolabi a new club after his spell with Laçi, where he continued developing following his time in Nigerian football. He previously represented Abia Warriors in the Nigeria Premier Football League before moving to Albania.

Afolabi is expected to add defensive ability and energy to Burreli’s squad as the club prepares for another campaign in the second tier. His immediate task will be to settle into a new team and compete for opportunities under the coaching staff.

The Nigerian said the move represents a challenge he is prepared to take on. He also indicated that the lessons gained at Laçi would help him contribute to his new club and support Burreli’s objectives.

His route from Abia Warriors to Laçi and now Burreli marks another stage in his effort to establish himself in European football. The transfer keeps him in Albania while offering a fresh setting in which to develop.

Afolabi will now seek to adapt quickly, earn the confidence of the technical staff and make an impact when selected. Strong performances at Burreli could also create further opportunities as he continues his career abroad.
