Nigerian Teenagers Salaudeen, Adeleke Draw UK Scholarship Interest

Nigerian teenagers Raheem Moyinoluwa Salaudeen and Fawas Ayomide Adeleke have attracted scholarship interest in the United Kingdom after producing strong performances at a football trial. The proposed opportunities could allow both midfielders to continue their football training while pursuing further education.

The pair, who developed at Buruj Sports Academy, impressed the trial’s technical team. Anthony Williams MSC, the Director of UK Football Trials, subsequently opened discussions with their management representatives about possible scholarship placements in the UK.

No agreement has been completed, but the talks offer both players a potential route into a new football and academic environment. Salaudeen and Adeleke have finished their secondary education in Nigeria and are now considering the next stage of their development.

Salaudeen, born on May 13, 2010, has represented Nigeria at several youth levels. He played in a two-match Under-15 friendly series against Morocco in 2024 and later joined the Nigerian delegation at the 2025 All African School Games in Algeria. His progress led to selection for Nigeria’s Under-17 squad at a four-nation invitation tournament in China in 2026.

Adeleke, born on April 20, 2011, also faced Morocco for Nigeria’s Under-15 side in 2024. He was part of the country’s team at the 2025 African Schools Football Championship, adding to his youth international experience.

Both midfielders have also played in Nigeria’s Nationwide League One, exposing them to senior football despite their age. Their combination of international youth football and experience against older opponents has strengthened their profiles as they pursue the scholarship opportunity. The ongoing discussions could give them a platform to develop technically and tactically while continuing their education and working towards professional careers.
