Onyedika earns 9.1 in Frankfurt's record 11-0 DFB-Pokal 2026-27 win

Raphael Onyedika began his Eintracht Frankfurt career with a 9.1 rating in an 11-0 DFB-Pokal win over SC St. Tönis.

Raphael Onyedika earned a 9.1 rating as Eintracht Frankfurt began their 2026-27 campaign with an 11-0 victory over SC St. Tönis in the DFB-Pokal. The result was Frankfurt’s biggest win in the competition’s history and sent the club into the second round.

The Nigerian midfielder started in a defensive midfield role, giving Frankfurt protection behind the attack while helping the team circulate possession. That balance allowed the forward players to continue pressing against the fifth-tier opposition as Frankfurt built a commanding lead before the interval.

Frankfurt scored twice from corners inside the first 10 minutes, with Jonathan Burkardt heading in the opener in the fourth minute before Robin Koch added the second six minutes later. Ayoube Amaimouni made it 3-0 in the 17th minute, and Burkardt struck again in the 29th.

Can Uzun then scored twice in two minutes, while Burkardt completed his hat-trick before the break. Elias Baum, Younes Ebnoutalib and Mario Götze also found the net, leaving Frankfurt 10-0 ahead at half-time. It was the highest half-time score recorded in DFB-Pokal history. Farès Chaïbi completed the scoring in the 87th minute.

Onyedika’s rating reflected his influence in midfield rather than goalscoring. Only Burkardt, Uzun and Koch received higher marks among the 32 players involved. Burkardt finished with three goals and two assists for a perfect 10.0, Uzun recorded two goals and three assists for the same score, while Koch’s goal earned him a 9.3.

The performance gave Onyedika an immediate lift after Frankfurt’s 7-0 pre-season defeat by Brentford on August 15, a match in which he played the full 90 minutes. The 25-year-old joined Frankfurt from Club Brugge this month on a contract running until 2031, having made 24 Champions League appearances and completed four regular seasons in Belgium. Coach Adi Hütter now has an experienced central-midfield option as Frankfurt move into the next round.
