PSG beat Aston Villa to win back-to-back UEFA Super Cups

Luis Enrique has surpassed Sir Alex Ferguson and Zinedine Zidane in UEFA Super Cup titles after PSG defeated Aston Villa.

Paris Saint-Germain secured their second consecutive UEFA Super Cup title with a victory over Aston Villa. Desire Doue scored the winning goal to ensure the French side retained the trophy.

The match saw PSG take an early lead through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Aston Villa responded to the deficit when Brian Madjou scored an equaliser to bring the sides level. Doue eventually found the net to decide the contest and hand the Parisians the championship.

This victory marks a historic achievement for manager Luis Enrique. By securing back-to-back titles in this competition, he has moved into third place on the list of the most successful managers in UEFA Super Cup history. He has now overtaken Sir Alex Ferguson and Zinedine Zidane, who have both won the trophy twice.

The result is a significant setback for Aston Villa and their manager Unai Emery. This defeat marks the fourth time Emery has lost a UEFA Super Cup final. Despite a stubborn performance from the Villa side, they were unable to prevent PSG from clinching the silverware.

Enrique's record-breaking achievement highlights his impact in European competition. By moving past two of the most decorated managers in football history, he has established a new benchmark for success in the UEFA Super Cup.
