Quarshie scores maiden goal in Radnik's 2-1 Serbian Super Liga win

Radnik Surdulica defeated Macva Sabac 2-1 on Saturday to record their first win of the 2026-27 Serbian Super Liga season. Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Quarshie scored the decisive goal in the Round 5 fixture at the EFBET Stadium.

The 19-year-old doubled Radnik’s advantage shortly after half-time, finishing a move created by fellow Ghanaian Sadick Abubakar. It was Quarshie’s first goal since joining the Serbian club and gave Radnik the three points they had been waiting for.

Radnik established control before the interval when veteran midfielder Aleksandar Pejovic opened the scoring after 25 minutes. The hosts carried that lead into the break before Quarshie struck two minutes after the restart.

Macva reduced the deficit late in the contest through Luka Pejovic, who scored in the closing stages. The visitors could not find another goal, leaving Radnik with their maiden victory of the campaign and Macva beaten by a single goal.

The result marked an important contribution from Radnik’s Ghanaian players. Abubakar supplied the assist for Quarshie, while the young forward’s finish stood as the winning goal. Ghanaian midfielder Adams Hamadu was also involved in the matchday squad for Macva but remained an unused substitute.

Quarshie joined Radnik last season from Ghanaian lower-tier side Rospak FC. His first strike for the club provides a personal milestone as he continues his move into European football, while Radnik can now build on their opening three points of the season.
