Serie A: Chukwueze provides assist in Milan's 2-1 win at Torino

Samuel Chukwueze started and played the full 90 minutes as AC Milan began their Serie A campaign with a 2-1 victory away to Torino on Sunday. The Nigerian winger contributed an assist in a result that placed Milan fourth after the opening round of league fixtures.

Milan broke the deadlock in the 64th minute through Alphadjo Cisse. Chukwueze then supplied the final pass for Adrien Rabiot, who doubled the visitors’ advantage three minutes later.

Torino reduced the deficit in the third minute of stoppage time when Che Adams found the net. The late goal gave the hosts a route back into the contest, but Milan held on to secure all three points.

The performance gave Chukwueze an early opportunity to establish himself under new head coach Ruben Amorim. His involvement in both the starting lineup and Milan’s second goal strengthened his case for continued first-team football at the Italian club.

Chukwueze spent last season on loan at Fulham in the Premier League. He appeared in 23 league matches, scoring three times and recording four assists before returning to Milan.

The victory leaves Milan fourth in the early Serie A standings, while Torino begin the season without a point from their opening fixture. For Chukwueze, the assist provided an immediate contribution as he seeks a regular role during the new campaign.
