
Shalulile scores as Yanga beat JKT Tanzania 4-0 in Premier League
Peter Shalulile scored in Young Africans’ 4-0 win over JKT Tanzania as Yanga kept their perfect start and returned to the league summit.
Peter Shalulile scored as Young Africans SC defeated JKT Tanzania 4-0 on Monday evening in the Tanzanian Premier League. The victory gave Yanga three wins from three league matches and lifted their goal tally to 11.
Albert Kangwanda opened the scoring in the 29th minute before Ibrahim Hamad Bacca added a second five minutes later. Chadrack Boka then struck before half-time, leaving Yanga with a three-goal advantage at the interval.
Shalulile completed the scoring in the 64th minute. The goal continued his contribution to a Yanga side that has maintained a perfect league record at the start of the new campaign.
Manqoba Mngqithi’s team returned to first place with a goal difference of plus nine. Simba SC are second after also winning each of their opening three league games, but their goal difference is plus four. Yanga began the league season with a 4-1 victory against Coastal Union and followed it with a 3-1 win away to Namungo FC.
The result also extended Mngqithi’s winning run to four matches in all competitions. His previous success came in the FA Community Shield, where Yanga beat bitter rivals Simba SC 1-0, with Steve Barker in charge of Simba.
Yanga will next host Pamba on Friday. Pamba have collected one point from their opening matches, while Yanga will be seeking to preserve their unbeaten start and remain at the top of the standings.
