Shields and Scott hold media workout ahead of Atlanta fight

Claressa Shields and Kaye Scott completed a media workout at Buckhead Fight Club before their middleweight bout this Saturday in Atlanta.

Undisputed heavyweight champion Claressa Shields and unified WBC and WBA champion Kaye Scott held a media workout on Wednesday at Buckhead Fight Club. The session took place ahead of their middleweight contest this Saturday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Shields will move down in weight to face Scott in the first women's headlining bout of the event, which will be broadcast live exclusively on DAZN.

Undefeated 140-pound fighter Tito Mercado also took part in the Wednesday session. Mercado is scheduled to fight Emmanuel Tagoe in the co-main event of the DAZN broadcast. The main program is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The workout included participants for the Zeus Network undercard, which starts at 4 p.m. ET. TV personalities Big Lex and Tesehki worked out before their main event matchup on the Zeus Network. Ray J and Orlando Brown also trained ahead of their featured celebrity fight.

Other professional fighters present at the Buckhead Fight Club session included light heavyweight contender Atif Oberlton, WBA women's light heavyweight champion Danielle Perkins, and featherweight prospect Shannel Butler. Celebrity influencers also participated in the training session.

Salita Promotions is presenting the event in partnership with Route 30 Promotions, Claressa Shields Promotions, and Wynn Records. The program is supported by sponsors Zeus Network and OnlyFans. Tickets for the August 15 card remain available through Ticketmaster.com.
