Tottenham omit Richarlison from 2026-27 Premier League squad

Tottenham have excluded Brazil forward Richarlison from their 2026-27 Premier League squad after he remained at the club beyond deadline day.

Tottenham Hotspur have left Richarlison out of their Premier League squad for the 2026-27 season, despite the Brazil international remaining at the club after the English transfer deadline. The 29-year-old forward was informed before the deadline that he was not part of head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s plans.

The decision was communicated early enough for Richarlison to seek a move, but he stayed at Spurs when the Premier League window closed on Tuesday. Tottenham had not received an offer for him by Thursday, leaving a transfer possible only in a country where clubs can still register players.

Türkiye is one potential destination, with its transfer window open until September 4. Richarlison joined Tottenham from Everton in the 2022-23 season for €58 million, and his current market value is listed at €25 million. He previously moved from Watford to Everton, after beginning his professional career in Brazil with Fluminense and América-MG.

De Zerbi had already indicated that Richarlison wanted to leave. The coach left him out of the squad for the 2-0 defeat by Newcastle United and said afterwards that the forward had repeatedly expressed that desire. Richarlison also addressed the situation on social media, insisting that he had always wanted any departure to benefit both himself and Tottenham.

He said he had remained at the club during a difficult period and continued to give his full effort, while asking Tottenham to handle his situation with the same respect. Richarlison scored 11 Premier League goals last season, matching his best league total since moving to north London.

Tottenham strengthened their squad before the deadline with Mykhailo Mudryk arriving on loan and Tosin Adarabioyo joining permanently from Chelsea. Their other arrivals during the window included Sandro Tonali, Sávio, Mateus Fernandes and Omar Marmoush, while Richarlison now sits outside the club’s Premier League group.
