Victor Wanyama joins Spurs legends for training ground reunion

Former Harambee Stars midfielder Victor Wanyama returned to the Tottenham Hotspur training ground on Thursday. The Kenyan international was among several former players invited to the Hotspur Way complex to observe the first team ahead of the new Premier League season.

Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi hosted the event, which allowed current squad members to interact with past players. Wanyama watched the training session before joining the players and coaching staff for a group lunch. He noted on social media that he participated in discussions between former and current players regarding expectations for the upcoming campaign.

The gathering included a wide range of club figures from different eras. Icons such as Glenn Hoddle, Steve Perryman, Gary Mabbutt, Pat Jennings, and Graham Roberts were in attendance. They were joined by more recent players including Jermain Defoe, Michael Dawson, Les Ferdinand, and Fernando Llorente.

Graham Roberts, who won two FA Cups and a UEFA Cup with the club, also attended the reunion. He described the day as amazing and noted that the manager's training session was as intense as a match day. Roberts expressed his appreciation for the organization of the event by the club staff.

This reunion follows a week of celebrations at the training ground. The club recently held a welcome for Pedro Porro, who returned to training following his World Cup success with Spain. Porro, who was named in the tournament's best XI, received a guard of honour from the staff and players upon his return.
