Vinicius Jr debuts new look as Real Madrid win 1-0
Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr returned to action following chin harmonisation surgery as his side secured the Teresa Herrera Trophy.
Vinicius Jr appeared in his first match for Real Madrid this pre-season following cosmetic chin surgery. The Brazilian winger featured in the side that defeated Deportivo La Coruna 1-0 to claim the Teresa Herrera Trophy.
Brahim Diaz scored the only goal of the game during first-half stoppage time. Vinicius Jr started the fixture but was substituted in the 71st minute for Jorge Cestero under manager Jose Mourinho.
The player underwent a procedure in Goiania to add definition to his chin contour using fillers. This facial operation took place after his return to Brazil following a European holiday and the conclusion of the World Cup, where he faced mockery regarding his appearance. The surgery was performed by Dr Alessandro Alarcao.
This return follows a period of significant change for the forward. After being linked with a move to Arsenal due to his contract status, Vinicius Jr committed his future to the Spanish club. He recently signed a contract extension that keeps him at the Bernabeu until 2032.
Since joining Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018, the 26-year-old has recorded 128 goals in 375 total appearances. His trophy cabinet includes two Champions League titles, three La Liga championships, and a Copa del Rey.
