Vipers complete signing of Nigerian defender Tarabina on two-year deal

Uganda Premier League champions Vipers have signed 23-year-old Nigerian defender Princewill Biweribo Tarabina on a two-year contract.

Vipers have completed the signing of 23-year-old Nigerian defender Princewill Biweribo Tarabina on a two-year contract. His arrival is the Uganda Premier League champions’ seventh addition during the current transfer window.

Tarabina can operate in central defence or at left-back, giving Vipers another option across the back line. The Nigerian joins after spells with Bayelsa United and Plateau United in his home country.

Vipers regard the move as a replacement for Rogers Torach, who recently departed the club. Tarabina’s ability to cover two defensive positions adds depth as the team prepares for its continental campaign.

The signing comes after a dominant 2025 Uganda Premier League season for Vipers. They finished first with 67 points from 30 matches, recording 19 victories, 10 draws and one defeat while scoring 55 goals and conceding 17.

Their recent results have also been strong. Vipers beat Gor Mahia 1-0 away, defeated Al-haras Al-jumhuri 3-0, overcame Express 2-0, won 3-0 at Maroons and drew 0-0 away to Police in their last five matches.

Tarabina will join a squad that includes other new arrivals Farouk Miya, Loyce Mbaba, Nicholas Mwere, Joel Sserunjogi, Jacques Mangoba and Cesar Manzoki. Vipers’ next listed fixture is against Nouadhibou in the CAF Champions League on September 5, 2026.
