Yunnan Yukun beat Dalian Yingbo 3-1 in Chinese Super League
Frank Acheampong scored early for Dalian Yingbo, but a red card and late goals from Yunnan Yukun resulted in a 3-1 defeat.
Yunnan Yukun secured a 3-1 victory over Dalian Yingbo at the Yuxi Plateau Sports Center. Despite an early goal from Ghanaian winger Frank Acheampong, the visitors could not hold onto their lead.
Acheampong gave Dalian Yingbo the advantage in the 13th minute. He finished a sequence initiated by Romanian midfielder Nicolae Stanciu to put the visitors ahead. However, the match changed significantly in the 36th minute when Mao Weijie received a second yellow card and was sent off.
Dalian Yingbo maintained their one-goal lead through the remainder of the first half despite playing with ten men. The hosts eventually broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute through Brazilian forward Cleber, who equalised the score.
Following the equaliser, Acheampong was substituted in the 74th minute. Yunnan Yukun then took control of the match in the closing stages. Oscar Taty Maritu scored in the 81st minute and added a third goal during the seventh minute of stoppage time.
The late goals ensured Yunnan Yukun claimed all three points, leaving Dalian Yingbo to regret a performance that began with such momentum before the dismissal of Mao Weijie.
