Zimbabwe Under-19 women beat Rhinos by nine wickets in T20 League

Zimbabwe’s Under-19 women reached 108 for one to defeat Rhinos by nine wickets at Queens Sports Club in the Women’s T20 League.

Zimbabwe’s Under-19 women secured a nine-wicket victory over Rhinos in a Women’s T20 League match at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Monday. They finished on 108 for one wicket to complete the result.

Christina Mutasa was the main contributor with an unbeaten-looking score of 62, accounting for more than half of the team’s total. Her half-century provided the foundation for the Under-19 side’s successful innings.

The result came with the competition approaching its conclusion. The league features Zimbabwe’s Under-19 team alongside Mega Market Mountaineers, Rhinos, Tuskers and Eagles, with the final scheduled for Tuesday.

Lorraine Pemhiwa captained the youth side. The squad also included Beloved Biza, Buhlebenkosi Maphosa, Charmaine Manyukwi, Makanaka Zinyama, Naomi Mhlekwa, Nicolette Nyika, Salem Museka, Tawananyasha Zvomarima and Vanessa Mayedza.

The nine-wicket margin gave the Under-19 team a strong finish before the competition’s final day. Rhinos, who were among the four other teams involved in the league programme, were unable to prevent Zimbabwe’s youth side from reaching 108 while losing only one wicket.
