Abia Warriors choose Enyimba Stadium for 2026/27 NPFL home games

Abia Warriors will use Enyimba Stadium in Aba for their 2026/27 NPFL home matches after finishing sixth in the 2026 campaign. They collected 55 points from 38 games, with 16 wins, seven draws and 15 defeats.

The move is required because the club’s regular home ground in Umuahia is undergoing renovation. Abia Warriors are expected to relocate to Aba in the coming days for a closed-door camp before the new season begins.

Executive chairman John Obuh confirmed the arrangement and said the team would also use the Aba stadium for its home fixtures. The club is returning from a pre-season tournament and plans to continue preparations from its new base.

Abia Warriors ended the previous campaign with 31 goals scored and 34 conceded. Their recent run included defeats by Warri Wolves, Kun Khalifat FC, Rivers United and Bendel Insurance, with a 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City the only win in their last five listed matches.

That sequence followed a season in which the Umuahia club remained in the upper half of the table but finished outside the leading positions. Their next listed fixture is a home match against Kun Khalifat FC on August 30, 2026, with Enyimba Stadium set to provide the venue under the new arrangement.

The club also intends to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season. Young players have been selected to join those retained from last season, with Abia Warriors targeting a side that combines youth with experience and produces a stronger campaign.
