Akor Adams earns 9.2 rating in Venezia's 3-2 Coppa Italia win

Akor Adams scored twice and created another goal as Venezia overturned two deficits to beat Modena 3-2 in the Coppa Italia Round of 32.

Venezia defeated Modena 3-2 in the Coppa Italia Round of 32, with Akor Adams scoring twice on his debut. The Super Eagles forward also helped create Venezia’s other goal, earning a 9.2 rating from FotMob for his decisive performance.

Modena took the lead in the 17th minute through Giuseppe Ambrosino, but Adams restored parity nine minutes later with a shot into the top corner. Ambrosino struck again 13 minutes before half-time, leaving Venezia behind for a second time.

Adams remained central to the comeback after the interval. In the 83rd minute, he chased a long pass and had his attempt stopped by the goalkeeper. He collected the rebound and sent a cross into the area, allowing John Yeboah to head Venezia level.

Two minutes later, Adams completed the turnaround by finding the net for his second goal. His contribution meant he played a part in each of Venezia’s three goals and secured their place in the last 16, where they will meet Udinese.

The rating reflected Adams’ influence in the attacking areas. He recorded nine touches in the Modena penalty area, more than any other player in the match, and attempted six shots, also the highest total. Three of those efforts were on target, while he created two chances for teammates.

The 26-year-old joined Venezia earlier in the summer after playing for Montpellier, with the transfer potentially reaching €23 million. Venezia, newly promoted to Serie A, will begin their 2026-27 league campaign against Lecce next Sunday, giving Adams an immediate opportunity to carry his productive debut into the new season.
