Akor Adams scores twice in Venezia's 3-2 Coppa Italia comeback

Venezia defeated Modena 3-2 in the Coppa Italia, with Akor Adams scoring twice on his competitive debut for the club. The Nigerian striker also created Venezia’s second goal, contributing directly to all three strikes in the comeback victory.

Modena took control first when Giuseppe Ambrosino opened the scoring. Adams responded before the interval, finishing calmly to bring Venezia level and give his side a route back into the contest.

Ambrosino scored again after half-time, restoring Modena’s advantage and leaving Venezia behind for a second time. Adams remained central to the response as the match moved towards its closing stages.

With seven minutes remaining, the former Sevilla forward turned creator. His involvement produced the chance for John Yeboah to equalise, bringing Venezia back to 2-2 and shifting the momentum towards the Italian side.

Adams completed the turnaround only two minutes later. He found the decisive finish to put Venezia ahead 3-2 and secure the Coppa Italia win after Modena had twice taken the lead.

The performance gave Adams an immediate introduction to competitive football with his new club after his summer move from Sevilla. At 25, he began his Venezia career with two goals, an assist and the match-winning contribution, establishing himself as the key figure in the cup victory.
