Alebiosu questions late penalty in Wolves 2-2 Blackburn draw

Super Eagles defender Ryan Alebiosu has expressed his frustration following a controversial late penalty during Blackburn Rovers' 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The penalty, which occurred in the 93rd minute, was converted by Raúl Jiménez to deny Blackburn a victory in Friday's Championship fixture.

Alebiosu maintained that he was positioned outside the penalty area when the handball took place. The Nigerian international stated that he felt a sense of gutting disappointment and believed that video replays would confirm he was standing outside the box when the ball struck his arm.

Despite the late setback, Alebiosu was named the official Man of the Match for Blackburn Rovers in their EFL Championship season opener. He noted that the team had worked hard to secure all three points and suggested that if the squad maintains such a level of performance, they will climb the league table.

While the defender was unhappy with the final decision, he praised the effort shown by his teammates during the difficult away game. He remarked that the players had dug deep and felt they had secured the win before the final moments of the match.

Blackburn Rovers will look to move on from the draw when they host Middlesbrough at Ewood Park next weekend.
