All Blacks punish Bulls mistakes in commanding 50-19 Loftus win

The All Blacks defeated the Bulls 50-19 at Loftus, taking a 24-0 lead into half-time. The result gave New Zealand a third win from three matches on their tour of South Africa, while the Bulls paid heavily for missed chances and defensive lapses.

Josh Moorby opened the scoring after 14 minutes, soon after the Bulls had failed to finish an opportunity of their own. Hanro Liebenberg appeared to have answered for the hosts, but the try was cancelled after the TMO identified a knock-on during the build-up.

Moorby then crossed again, with Beauden Barrett adding the conversion. Codie Taylor scored twice before the interval, and Josh Jacomb converted as the All Blacks established a commanding advantage. New Zealand’s handling and passing repeatedly created space, while the Bulls struggled to turn promising positions into points.

The Bulls improved after the break and Ruan Vermaak’s powerful run produced their first try. Curwin Bosch converted, but the response was undermined immediately when the hosts made an error from the restart. Leroy Carter made them pay, followed by a try from Rieko Ioane, with Jacomb’s conversion extending New Zealand’s lead.

Stravino Jacobs provided one of the Bulls’ brightest moments in the 54th minute, finishing after Jeandre Rudolph had helped create the opening. Carter added his second try in the 67th minute after combining with Jacomb, and Coetzee scored the Bulls’ third try in the 74th minute, which Bosch converted.

Wallace Sititi had the final word, breaking through to score beneath the posts before Jacomb added the conversion. The Bulls’ listed recent results had included two defeats, two draws and one win, and their next fixture is against the Cheetahs in the Currie Cup on 16 August 2026.
