Amelia Moore takes four-fight record into Dubois world title test

Amelia Moore will challenge Caroline Dubois for the WBC and WBO lightweight world titles on Saturday, August 29, despite having only four professional fights. The unbeaten American, 4-0 with one knockout, faces Dubois at bp pulse LIVE in Birmingham in a 10-round co-main event on the MVPW-06: UK vs. USA card.

Moore’s limited professional record does not reflect the experience she built before turning professional. She competed more than 120 times during three Olympic cycles and represented the United States at the highest levels of the amateur system.

The Colorado Springs fighter won the National Golden Gloves in 2017 and the USA Boxing National Championships in 2021. She also secured gold at the 2017 Elite National Championships and National PAL, before becoming an alternate for the 2020 Beijing Olympics.

Moore began her professional career with CES Boxing in 2024. After three bouts, she won the vacant NABF Lightweight Championship against Canadian veteran Bonnie Hunter. Her next fight will be her first world title challenge and comes against a champion with a 13-0-1 record and five knockouts.

Dubois has described Moore as a talented opponent but does not believe the American’s amateur background will provide an obstacle. The British champion has also indicated that she considers herself the superior fighter, while Moore accepts that she enters the contest as the underdog on unfamiliar ground.

The bout headlines a rapid rise that Moore and her team believe reflects the quality of her amateur preparation rather than a rushed career plan. CES Boxing founder Jimmy Burchfield has said Moore spent years facing elite opponents, travelling internationally and developing the maturity needed for a championship opportunity.

The card is headlined by a super-welterweight unification fight between Mikaela Mayer and Chantelle Cameron. It will be shown in the United States on ESPN+ and in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports.
