Anthony Joshua’s Training Commitment Inspires Destiny Omo Ologo

Lagos boxer Destiny Omo Ologo says Anthony Joshua’s disciplined training has strengthened his ambition to become a world champion.

Lagos-based boxer Alamu Oladiran, known as Destiny Omo Ologo, has identified Anthony Joshua’s dedication to training as a key influence on his ambition to succeed in boxing. The Nigerian-born former two-time world heavyweight champion’s approach to preparation has given Oladiran added motivation as he pursues his own career goals.

Oladiran said Joshua’s commitment stands out among the qualities he admires in the sport. He also counts Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao among his boxing inspirations, pointing to Mayweather’s achievements and fighting style, as well as Pacquiao’s approach in the ring.

The boxer remains confident that he can reach the top of the sport before ending his career. He has set himself the target of becoming a world champion and believes the examples set by Joshua, Mayweather and Pacquiao can help guide his development.

Financial pressure remains a challenge in pursuing that objective. Oladiran said earnings for Nigerian boxers are low, leaving him to take on other work to support himself while continuing to train.

His activities include involvement in commercial tricycle union work and other handwork. Oladiran said those responsibilities have not reduced his focus or interrupted his preparations because he remains determined to achieve his boxing targets.

He has also suspended his annual Anularigba Boxing Championship because the rising cost of organising the event is beyond what he can currently afford. The competition had been funded by Oladiran, but limited boxing income and higher expenses have made that difficult.

Despite those obstacles, Joshua’s training habits continue to provide a model for Oladiran. Alongside his admiration for Mayweather and Pacquiao, that example has reinforced his belief that sustained commitment can take him towards a world title.
