Asante Kotoko and midfielder Prince Badu mutually part ways

Asante Kotoko and central midfielder Prince Badu have reached a mutual agreement to end their professional relationship. The 26-year-old player leaves the club as a free agent following a decision by the technical team and head coach Eric Tinkler.

Badu joined the Porcupine Warriors from Nations FC in January 2026. His departure comes despite having a contract that was originally intended to keep him at the club until 2028. The midfielder was identified as surplus to requirements during the club's current efforts to reshape the playing squad.

This exit represents the initial stage of a broader overhaul at Asante Kotoko. The club is working to restructure its roster following a disappointing campaign. The decision to release Badu aligns with previous indications that several players would be moved on to facilitate this transition.
