Barcelona monitoring Tottenham defender Pedro Porro

Barcelona are tracking Tottenham full-back Pedro Porro, though a transfer remains difficult due to his long-term contract and current squad depth.

Barcelona are currently monitoring Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro. While the Spanish club is observing his progress, a short-term transfer is not expected at this time.

The 26-year-old full-back has gained attention following his performances for Spain during their World Cup victory this summer. His ability to contribute to attacks and his high stamina levels align with the profile Barcelona seek for their defensive positions. His connection with Lamine Yamal during the tournament also added to his growing reputation.

Several obstacles stand in the way of a move. Porro recently committed his future to Tottenham with a new contract that runs until 2031, which would increase the cost of any negotiation. Additionally, Barcelona do not intend to strengthen their full-back positions unless they secure a significant sale first.

The situation may change if Jules Koundé leaves the club. A departure by Koundé would provide the necessary funds and squad space for Barcelona to pursue Porro. Arsenal have also been linked with interest in Koundé, which could trigger a chain reaction in the market.

For now, Porro is not classified as an urgent target for the Catalan side. The club remains alert to market opportunities, but the current focus remains on monitoring the defender rather than making an immediate bid.
