Barcelona rule out Victor Osimhen despite Arsenal and Spurs interest

Barcelona have decided against signing Victor Osimhen this summer. The Catalan club has ruled out a move for the Galatasaray forward, even as Arsenal and Tottenham continue to show interest in the Nigerian striker.

Despite being offered to the club on several occasions, Osimhen has never been a primary target for Barcelona. The club believes the 27-year-old does not fit their specific footballing profile. Their current strategy focuses on securing younger and more financially viable attacking options.

This decision comes while Barcelona faces uncertainty regarding their pursuit of Julian Alvarez. The club remains interested in the Atletico Madrid striker, but Atletico has maintained that the Argentina international is not for sale. While Barcelona may look for alternatives if the Alvarez deal fails, Osimhen is not considered a viable candidate.

Arsenal have already engaged in discussions with Galatasaray regarding Osimhen. These talks occurred alongside interest from the Turkish side in Arsenal players Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri. Galatasaray has reportedly made an offer of £38.4 million for Martinelli and has expressed interest in the young Nwaneri.

Although Arsenal have previously ranked Alvarez higher than Osimhen on their shortlist, Atletico Madrid's demand of over £100 million for the striker could change their plans. Tottenham are also monitoring the situation as they seek to improve their offensive capabilities.

With Barcelona removing themselves from the race, the competition for the striker is expected to focus on Premier League clubs. Galatasaray must now determine the future of their forward as the transfer window progresses.
