Caleb Clarke returns home with shoulder injury

Winger Caleb Clarke is returning to New Zealand following medical scans that confirmed a shoulder injury. The player suffered a ruptured tendon in his shoulder during the 54-0 victory against the Sharks in Durban on Tuesday night.

This injury represents the third significant blow to the All Blacks squad ahead of their upcoming series against the Springboks. The team has struggled with availability as they prepare for the rivalry series.

Clarke is the latest player to depart the tour due to medical concerns. He follows centre Billy Proctor, who was sent home after scans revealed a fractured shoulder blade. Proctor sustained that injury during the tour's opening match against the Stormers in Durban.

In addition to the shoulder injuries affecting the backline, the squad has also lost hooker George Bell. Bell was previously ruled out of selection after sustaining a calf injury during a training session.

All Blacks coach Dave Rennie has indicated that the team will not call up an injury replacement at this stage. The coaching staff will proceed with the current available players despite the loss of three squad members.
