Chiefs Ladies beat Pirates 4-1 in Sasol Gauteng Women’s League

Kaizer Chiefs Ladies defeated Emmarentia Pirates 4-1 in the Sasol Gauteng Women’s Provincial League at Naturena Village on Saturday. The result lifted Unathi Mabena’s side to 43 points and gave the team a fourth successive victory as it continued its push for promotion to the elite league next season.

Chiefs took control almost immediately when Lumka Qhekeka opened the scoring in the third minute. Tshiamo Kekana added a second in the 14th minute, giving the hosts a two-goal advantage at the interval.

The Naturena side maintained its superiority after the restart. Nonhlanhla Maci extended the lead in the 67th minute before Zanele Kunyamne completed the scoring for Chiefs 10 minutes later.

The victory continued a strong run of results for Mabena’s team. Chiefs had edged Future Stars Ladies 1-0 in their previous outing at Qedelizwe Secondary School, making Saturday’s result their fourth win in a row.

That sequence has also brought a significant improvement in the team’s attacking return. Chiefs have scored 11 goals across their last four matches and conceded only once during that spell, providing the form behind their promotion challenge.

The latest three points came in Chiefs’ 20th league match of the campaign. Their record now stands at 14 wins, four draws and two defeats, with the 43-point tally strengthening their position in the race to reach the elite league next season.
